Dental Veneers: The Process

In our experience, it’s best to let our patients know exactly what’s involved with the cosmetic dental procedures we offer. After all, knowledge is power – and we want you to feel at ease before you even walk through our door.

With that in mind, here is a step-by-step outline of what you can expect should you visit our office to receive your dental veneers.

Step 1: The Consultation

The first thing we do is have you visit with Dr. Gary Moore and his staff so we can check out the scope of the damage to determine if dental veneers would be beneficial for you. It’s important to ensure that everyone is on the same page as far as expectations from the procedure, but chances are if you have misaligned, fractured, or severely discolored teeth, dental veneers will offer the perfect solution to those ailments.

Step 2: The Initial Procedure

Dr. Gary Moore will begin the process by removing enamel from the surface of the tooth or teeth being implanted with the dental veneer. This is to ensure that the veneers don’t jut out or appear too large in comparison to the surrounding teeth. The amount of enamel removed is related to the size of the veneer being bonded, and will be a painless procedure requiring only a local anesthetic.

Step 3: Casting the Tooth

Dr. Moore will then make a custom cast of the tooth, or teeth, being fitted with the dental veneer. Each client is unique, and though this process may take a few days to ensure that the veneer is the right size and shape to appear symmetrical with your existing teeth, you’ll appreciate the attention to detail.

Step 4: Bonding the Veneer

A lot goes in to making sure that the dental veneer looks good and well-cemented to the problem area, or areas. First, in addition to molding the tooth for symmetry, Dr. Moore will make sure that the color of the veneer matches the surrounding teeth. He will apply a cement to the veneer so that it is bonded permanently to your teeth. There’s a special chemical in the bonding cement that is activated by a light Dr. Moore will shine on the area being corrected, but after a few minor alterations your smile will look good as new!

How Much Do Dental Veneers Cost?

The cost of receiving dental veneer implants depends on the extent of the damage in need of masking. If you have severe damage to multiple teeth, you may be looking at a more expensive procedure. However, Dr. Gary Moore and his skilled staff believe in the power of cosmetic dentistry in improving the quality of their patient’s lives. That means that though most dental veneers fall between $12,000 - $15,000, and are usually not covered by dental insurance plans, we’ll set you up with financing options and other cost-cutting offers in order to ensure that you receive A-rated dental care at an affordable price.
